Terms & Conditions
Last updated: 9 March 2026
Effective date: 9 March 2026
1. Introduction
These Terms and Conditions ("Terms") govern your access to and use of the SLPractice platform, including our website at www.slpractice.com and all related services (the "Service").
The Service is provided by SLPractice Ltd, a company registered in England and Wales (company number: 17070357), with its registered office at 12 Hillside Road, St Albans, AL1 3QL, United Kingdom ("SLPractice", "we", "us", or "our").
By creating an account or using the Service, you agree to be bound by these Terms. If you do not agree, you must not use the Service.
Important: SLPractice is a resource creation tool. It is not a medical device and is not intended to diagnose, treat, cure, or prevent any condition. It does not provide clinical advice, diagnosis, or treatment recommendations. You are responsible for exercising professional judgment when using any resources created through the Service.
2. Definitions
- "Content" means any text, images, audio, or other materials created through the Service using your inputs.
- "Credits" means the monthly resource creation allowance associated with your subscription plan.
- "Profile Data" means information you input about children or students (such as nicknames, age, interests, language, and voice preference).
- "Resources" means the AI-generated therapy materials produced by the Service.
3. Eligibility and Accounts
You must be at least 18 years old to create an account. The Service is designed for professionals — children may interact with shared Resources but must not create accounts. You are responsible for maintaining the confidentiality of your login credentials and for all activity under your account. Notify us at support@slpractice.com if you become aware of any unauthorised access.
4. The Service
SLPractice is an AI-powered platform that enables professionals to create personalised therapy resources. Resources are generated using third-party AI services and may include text, images, and audio. You may share Resources via links with parents, caregivers, or school staff; recipients do not need an account.
We do not guarantee uninterrupted or error-free access. We may suspend the Service for maintenance, updates, or reasons beyond our control.
5. Subscription Plans and Billing
5.1 Plans
SLPractice offers free and paid subscription plans. For current plans, pricing, and Credit allocations, see the pricing page on our website.
All prices are displayed exclusive of tax unless stated otherwise. If applicable taxes apply in your jurisdiction, they will be added at checkout. We will give reasonable notice before changing how tax is displayed on our pricing.
We reserve the right to adjust pricing and plan features with reasonable notice. Price changes will not affect your current billing cycle.
5.2 Credits
Each plan includes a monthly Credit allocation. Credits are consumed when you create Resources, as detailed on the pricing page. Credits reset monthly and do not roll over. When your Credits are used up, you cannot create new Resources until they reset, but you retain access to all existing Content.
5.3 Billing and payment
- Payments are processed securely by Stripe. We do not store your payment card details.
- Monthly subscriptions are billed on the same date each month.
- Annual subscriptions are billed upfront for the full year. Credits are still allocated and reset on a monthly basis.
- All paid subscriptions auto-renew at the end of each billing period unless you cancel before the renewal date.
5.4 Failed payments
If a payment fails, Stripe will attempt to retry the charge automatically. If payment remains unsuccessful after Stripe's retry period, your subscription will be cancelled and your account will be automatically downgraded to the Free plan. Specifically:
- Your existing Content, Profiles, and Resources will be preserved — we do not delete data due to payment failure.
- Your Credit allocation will reset to the Free plan level.
- You may reactivate a paid subscription at any time by updating your payment details in your account settings.
5.5 Cancellation
- You may cancel your subscription at any time through your account settings. If you have questions about cancellation, contact support@slpractice.com.
- Cancellation takes effect at the end of your current billing period. You will retain access to paid features until then.
- At the end of the billing period, your account will be automatically downgraded to the Free plan. All your existing Content, Profiles, and Resources will be preserved.
- We do not offer refunds for partial billing periods, except where required by applicable consumer protection law (see Section 5.6).
5.6 Cooling-off period
UK consumers may have a statutory right to cancel within 14 days of purchase. Contact support@slpractice.com for details.
5.7 Plan changes
Upgrades take effect immediately with prorated billing. Downgrades take effect at the end of your current billing period.
6. Your Content
6.1 Ownership
You are responsible for all Content you create using the Service, including how you use and distribute it.
6.2 Permitted and restricted uses
You may use Resources in your own professional practice and share them with parents, caregivers, and school staff via the Service. You may not resell or commercially redistribute Resources.
6.3 Licence to SLPractice
By using the Service, you grant SLPractice a non-exclusive, worldwide, royalty-free licence to use, host, store, reproduce, display, distribute, and adapt your Content solely to provide and improve the Service. This includes the right to sub-licence to our sub-processors as necessary. This licence continues for the duration of your account and terminates when your Content is deleted.
6.4 Feedback
If you provide feedback or suggestions about the Service, you grant us a perpetual, royalty-free licence to use that feedback without obligation to you.
7. AI-Generated Content
Resources are created using third-party AI services for text, image, and voice generation. Your inputs are sent to these services to generate content. See our Privacy Policy Section 6 for details of the sub-processors we use.
AI-generated content may contain errors, inaccuracies, or inappropriate material. You must review all Resources before using them with children or students. You accept full responsibility for your decision to use any Resource. SLPractice accepts no liability for the accuracy or suitability of AI-generated content.
You are responsible for ensuring your inputs do not infringe third-party intellectual property rights. While we take reasonable steps to prevent AI outputs from reproducing protected material, we cannot guarantee this.
8. Your Obligations
You are responsible for all clinical and educational decisions made using the Service and must comply with applicable law, your professional safeguarding obligations, and these Terms. If you input Profile Data, you are the data controller and responsible for obtaining necessary consents (see Section 10). SLPractice may suspend your account immediately if we reasonably believe your use poses a risk to a child.
9. Prohibited Uses
You must not: (a) use the Service to create or distribute illegal, harmful, or abusive content; (b) access another user's account or data without authorisation; (c) reverse-engineer or scrape any part of the Service; (d) use the Service to build a competing product; (e) circumvent security measures or usage limits; (f) resell or commercially redistribute the Service.
We reserve the right to suspend or terminate your account if you breach these restrictions.
When you share Resources via links, you are responsible for ensuring sharing is appropriate. Shared links provide view and play access only. SLPractice is not responsible for what recipients do with shared Resources.
10. Data Protection (Embedded DPA)
This section constitutes a Data Processing Agreement under Article 28 of the UK GDPR, where you input Profile Data or other personal data into the Service. You are the data controller; SLPractice is the data processor. For your account data (name, email, usage data), SLPractice is the data controller.
We process Profile Data only to provide the Service, in accordance with your instructions, and as required by applicable law. All personnel are bound by confidentiality obligations. We implement appropriate technical and organisational security measures.
You provide general authorisation for us to engage sub-processors (see Privacy Policy Section 6). We will assist you in responding to data subject requests and will notify you without undue delay of any personal data breach.
Where sub-processors are located outside the UK, appropriate safeguards are in place. On termination, we delete personal data within a reasonable period. On reasonable written notice, we will provide information necessary to demonstrate compliance.
11. Limitation of Liability
11.1 Scope
To the maximum extent permitted by law, our total aggregate liability shall not exceed the greater of (a) the total fees you have paid in the 12 months preceding the claim, or (b) £100. We are not liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages. SLPractice accepts no liability for clinical or educational outcomes arising from use of Resources.
11.2 Exceptions
Nothing in these Terms excludes or limits our liability for:
- Death or personal injury caused by our negligence.
- Fraud or fraudulent misrepresentation.
- Any liability that cannot be excluded or limited by applicable law, including under the Consumer Rights Act 2015 (where applicable).
11.3 Consumer rights
If you are a consumer under UK law, nothing in these Terms affects your statutory rights under the Consumer Rights Act 2015.
12. Termination
12.1 Termination by you
You may close your account at any time through your account settings. Cancellation of a paid subscription follows the cancellation process above.
12.2 Termination or suspension by us
We may suspend or terminate your account if you materially breach these Terms, if we are required to by law, or if we cease to offer the Service. We may suspend immediately where we reasonably believe there is a risk to child safety, illegal activity, or the security of the Service.
12.3 Effect of termination
On termination, your right to use the Service ceases. You may request data export or account deletion by emailing support@slpractice.com. We will retain your data for a reasonable period after which it will be deleted. Sections that by their nature should survive termination will continue to apply.
13. Changes to These Terms
We may update these Terms from time to time. We will notify you by email before material changes take effect. Your continued use of the Service after changes take effect constitutes acceptance. If you do not agree, you may terminate your account.
14. Governing Law and Disputes
14.1 Governing law
These Terms are governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of England and Wales.
14.2 Jurisdiction
Any disputes arising out of or in connection with these Terms shall be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of England and Wales. If you are a consumer, you may also bring proceedings in the courts of the country in which you are domiciled.
14.3 Dispute resolution
If you have a complaint, email support@slpractice.com. Nothing prevents you from bringing court proceedings at any time.
15. General
15.1 Entire agreement
These Terms (together with our Privacy Policy) constitute the entire agreement between you and SLPractice in relation to the Service.
15.2 Severability
If any provision of these Terms is found to be invalid or unenforceable, the remaining provisions will continue in full force and effect.
15.3 No waiver
Our failure to enforce any provision of these Terms does not constitute a waiver of that provision or any other provision.
15.4 Assignment
You may not assign or transfer your rights under these Terms without our prior written consent. We may assign our rights and obligations under these Terms in connection with a merger, acquisition, or sale of substantially all of our assets.
15.5 Force majeure
Neither party is liable for failures or delays caused by events beyond reasonable control.
